What's up guys, it's Danielle aka BABY D from the Nu-Nu...A couple weeks ago, me and bri and asia were talking about the new r&b singer from the UK, winner of the X-factor TV show in England :Leona Lewis..she was discovered by simon cowell basically. she has the hit song "bleeding love" and overall her cd is great IMO.

i like her. i just think she lacks personality. she needs to be more energetic or something when she's on stage performing.

but we all have mixed opinions on her. the real question is...

Here's Mariah's take on Leona: The chart-topping singer insists she "didn't really hear any similarity" between Leona's music and her own, and claims there will never be a "new" Mariah.

She said: "Honestly, there has been so many, 'This is the new her,' and I'm like, 'Okay, show me the new her. Can she come and work for me and be my double?' "And I'm not particular talking about this girl Leona, because I only heard her once and I didn't really hear a true similarity, particularly in the style of music.

"It is what it is and critics have compared me to so many people who are not really singers, and they're certainly not writers."

Its your girl Boogie and I was talking to my girls the other day ( shoutout to the Princess B and Baby D!) when we got on the topic about Dani watching the Ashanti "The Way that I Love You" video. Come to find out, Bri says that she heard that Ashanti wrote the song about her and her man Nelly... and supposedly her whole new album " The Declaration" is airing out the whole 411 on their realtionship ...Here's what our friends at Mediatakeout.com had to say....

Looks like Ashanti may be ready to open up about what went down between her and rapper Nelly. MediaTakeOut.com has exclusively learned that in upcoming interviews, Ashanti is expected to directly discuss her relationship with Nelly - and how it made its way into the lyrics on her new album The Declaration.

We spoke with a person from Ashanti's camp - and according to them Ashanti's looking to come clean about everything. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com, "Ashanti's been very guarded in the way she discusses her personal life - and I think that's hurt her. In her new album [The Declaration] she's not afraid to open up and let fans into her life."

And we asked directly whether Ashanti's new song The Way That I Love You was . The insider told us directly - "Yes!!" Here are some of the lyrics to the song:

CIARA at TEMPLE UNIVERSITY!

On Sunday, Ciara was at our very own Temple University for the 2008 National Hip-Hop Team Vote Launch! The hosts of the NuNu are personally a little upset they were not notified. Hopefully, we are definitely looking forward to Ciara's upcoming third studio album is scheduled for release this summer.

According to lovebscott.com, "You also might be able to catch Ciara and Ludacris this Thursday, April 24th, while they exclusively shop at the Ralph Lauren store at the Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta."

what's up - - it is the princess B, princess of the music kingdom... obviously. hitting up the NUNU blog right quick... can we just take a moment to discuss two ridiculously underrated projects in music?

two albums. one artist.



BECAUSE I LOVE IT - - amerie.

download... "not the only one", "rollin' down my face", "all i need", "can we go (feat. carl thomas)", "falling", "give my love to you"... and of course the singles "touch", "1 thing", & "talkin' 'bout"



amerie has this beautiful feminine aggression in her vocals that is addicting. i don't understand why she never receives the appreciation that she truly deserves. how did these two albums get so overlooked? sure, TOUCH received some publicity, however amerie as a whole does not receive not nearly enough. and BECAUSE I LOVE IT was not even released in the U.S. and culminated in amerie being dropped from her label. she has incredible vocal ability, impeccable style and sass, and she is the only person who does go-go better than beyonce ("crazy in love" vs. "talkin' 'bout," "one thing," & "love's off the chain?") what's even crazier is how EASY it would be to market this absolutely stunning woman, whose features are damn near perfect and who also possesses one of the most sultry gazes in the music industry.

but really, i couldn't put it any better than this 2007 article from NewsOK:

We need a sustained improvement in the industry's celebration and promotion of great talent. Excellent music was made in 2007, and most of it was barely heard. I'm not even talking about the music that is difficult to absorb, such as M.I.A.'s "Kala.” Instead, let's talk about the best R&B record that U.S. audiences could not hear in 2007 without paying $30 for an import: Amerie's "Because I Love It.”

Then EW.com released a list last week of artists who were either dropped from major labels or jumped willingly. Amerie was near the top of the list.

If you cannot market Amerie, you probably couldn't sell ice in Ecuador.

Beyonce...bitter? 50...gangsta?

Hey guys, it's Baby D (Danielle) from the Nu-Nu..i have a couple updates for you guys on a few stories that we discussed on yesterday's show.

First of all, according to one of our fav. sources, mediatakeout.com, Beyonce is upset with Michelle and Kelly for leaking details of her and Jay's wedding.

an insider is claiming that beyonce thinks michelle and kelly tipped off the paparazzi about the wedding when they created a video and posted it on youtube the day before the wedding. Kelly took it down after 2 hours..

"Before Kelly and Michelle made that video - the wedding was just some blog rumor ... But after [the video] there was a media frenzy"

the insider also claims that Beyonce's relationship with Kelly and Michelle will probably never be the same after this and that Beyonce was not pleased with how her wedding turned out.

what do you guys think??? Is B overreacting??

What i dont get is if this is true, how Beyonce can point fingers at just those two when people have been speculating about the wedding forever now. especially after they got the license and when everyone started connecting their obsession with the number 4.

In another update, after Alicia cleared up her comments about gangsta rap, 50 cent decides to open his big mouth about our girl.

here's what he said in an interview (according to mediatakeout.com) “I don’t like Alicia Keys no more. If she thinks what they consider gangsta music is [made] to bring black people down then I think my sh*t falls into that category. I don’t like people who don’t like me. I don’t like her then because that’s what provides the life for me."

HOLD UP-- did 50 just say his music is GANGSTA?
